In a significant announcement on Tuesday, President Donald Trump promoted a groundbreaking joint venture that aims to invest up to $500 billion in infrastructure related to artificial intelligence. This initiative stems from a new partnership involving major players in the tech industry: OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank.

The newly formed entity, named Stargate, is set to begin constructing data centers and the necessary electricity generation facilities to support the rapid development of AI technology in Texas. According to the White House, the initial investment is projected to be around $100 billion, with the potential to increase to five times that amount.

“It’s big money and high-quality people,” Trump stated, describing the venture as “a resounding declaration of confidence in America’s potential” under his administration.

Joining Trump at the White House shortly after his inauguration were key figures in the tech sector: Masayoshi Son of SoftBank, Sam Altman of OpenAI, and Larry Ellison of Oracle. Each of these leaders credited Trump for facilitating the project, despite the fact that construction has already begun and the initiative dates back to 2024.

“This will be the most important project of this era,” declared Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, emphasizing the significance of the venture.

Ellison added that the data centers are already under construction, with ten currently being built. He also indicated that the project is linked to advancements in digital health records, which could enhance the treatment of diseases such as cancer through the potential development of customized vaccines.

As this partnership unfolds, it promises to reshape the landscape of AI infrastructure and its applications, marking a pivotal moment at the intersection of technology
